Twinkl is a multiple award-winning company based in the UK and expanding internationally, with the mission of helping those who teach by providing engaging educational resources for children. We are looking for an Intermediate School Segment Manager to help us reach out to New Zealand communities via social media, tailored newsletters and blogs and interactions with teachers.

We are looking for someone who is results-focused, highly organised and has a lot of energy to help grow our New Zealand Intermediate community. The right person will join the entrepreneurial teams which comprise Twinkl’s core customer segments. You will be implementing projects and working fairly autonomously so prior experience in planning and executing strategy is a must.

Starting solo, you will use your entrepreneurial skills to connect with customers directly via a variety of different communication channels to highlight and demonstrate the benefits of Twinkl New Zealand’s Intermediate products and resources. You'll be moving into this position as a team of one with the support of many, so you’ll need to take a rapid iterative approach, employing different marketing and business development techniques to get the message out to customers. A typical week could involve any of the following:

  • Showing tenacity and drive, and going above and beyond to reach new customers and build your segment.
  • Sales and marketing spreading the word to new customers, whom we can help and support! Managing our Intermediate social media activity and making sure the right messages reach our customers at the right time.
  • Digital optimisation looking at the overall user experience of the New Zealand Secondary area of the Twinkl site and working with our web and design teams to continuously improve this
  • Business management and strategy putting plans in place to help achieve our ambitious growth targets. Working with other Segment and Country Managers to understand what’s working and how we can improve.

  • Have experience teaching Year 7-8 or in a role working within an intermediate school or catering to intermediate school teachers.

  • Be commercially astute and a strategic thinker who is comfortable taking calculated risks and being accountable for successes and failures.
  • Be able to communicate a shared vision and motivate individuals and a team.
  • Be methodical, highly organised, accurate and execution focused

You'll work with:

  • Imogen Wood - Country Manager for New Zealand will be your line manager and mentor.
  • Jay Wynn, New Segments Manager and England Parents Segment Manager.
  • Jon Seaton (CEO) - Twinkl's co-founder and CEO will be your co-hustler and help you grow through his experience - as well as helping to break down barriers.
  • Sam Denno - England Segment Manager for Beyond (Secondary) will also give you their experience, having driven this segment forward in England.
