Content Writer- New Zealand
Location: Remote Pay: $23 per hour
Contract: 6 Months
Hours: 15 hours per week
As a New Zealand Content Writer working on resources suitable for the New Zealand Curriculum, you will have experience teaching in New Zealand across the primary age range and have strengths across the New Zealand Curriculum.
This role does not require you to work from the Twinkl office although you must be available for face-to-face meetings over webcam. The hours can be worked whenever suits you as long as the hours are completed within each week. If you are working from home, you will need to provide your own device to work on and a reliable, high-speed internet connection. We are looking for working teachers (part-time or casual relief) who can do this around their teaching.
Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:
Undergoing training for the first few weeks to understand all aspects of your new role
Ideating and writing raw teaching content, before it moves through the production process
Responding to and implementing feedback from our amazing Content Editors
Attending two meetings/short stand-ups a week to update the team on your progress, raise issues and ask for support from your team mates
Attending ad-hoc meetings with your trainer, buddy and line manager as needed
Engaging with your teammates and contributing to the fun, supportive culture of our Kiwi and UK based team
To succeed in the role, you will:
Possess strong, up to date knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and best teaching practices
Have excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar skills
Thrive working in a change-focused and dynamic environment
Be highly computer literate, with MS office skills (particularly Word and PowerPoint) and experience using the Google Suite.
Be good fun to be with and have the ability to communicate well with others
In this role, you will learn:
How to write high-quality educational content for NZ classrooms
The ins-and-outs of a digital production line
How to work utilising Agile Methodology
You’ll work with:
8+ Kiwi teachers working as Content Writers and Editors, one of whom will provide support as your buddy for your first couple of months
5+ UK based Designers and Illustrators
Your line manager, who will be separate from the above
The New Zealand Country Manager, Imogen
Requirements
We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:
Bachelor of Education (Teaching), or
Bachelor of Teaching (Primary), or
Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Primary) or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, or
Diploma of Teaching
