Job Description
Our current Auckland Director is hitting her bucket-list and heading overseas for 12 months of travel. We are looking for a (new!) wonderful people-person with a strategic growth-mindset and an entrepreneurial style, to lead and expand the Alphero digital team and business in Auckland. You will bring warmth, fun, a sense of humour, and loads of passion and energy to the role. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will report to the CEO.
Our Auckland team and business is already strong (and had a pretty epic year in 2023) but we’re continuing our goal to see it balanced at a similar weight to our Wellington head office. That’s where you come in! You will be well-connected and networked in Auckland, great at building strong new relationships, and excited by working with our current crazy-courageous clients, while making the most of an existing pipeline of seriously interesting work.
With an intrepid spirit, you’re eager to explore the possibilities for digital design, technologies and emerging trends; and wired to spark blue-sky ideas that create new opportunities, while solving real-world problems. The ability to make a positive impact (while working with fun people) is what gets you up in the morning.

We will empower you with loads of autonomy over our Auckland-based business, as you deliver on these three key areas of focus, with the goal of growing the business, capabilities and team:
- Business development- building strong networks and great relationships with companies doing interesting things in order to generate (and close) leads for interesting new projects.
- Consulting - contributing to the strategy and creative phases of new projects and programmes, where you, backed by and in collaboration with the wider Alphero team, imagine bold digital futures that create meaningful change for our clients and their customers.
- People - supporting and inspiring our passionate Auckland team, with an influence across the wider Alphero whanau too. Our people are motivated by doing cool work that matters. You’ll use your exceptional leadership skills to maintain our kind and inclusive working environment and enable our people to grow and thrive.

Requirements
You will be be seriously well-networked at a senior level, have a solid track record of growth, and of leveraging digital for significant impact or change - whether that’s from a creative background or a strategic one. You may have done this from within an organisation (as a CDO or GM digital; in a start-up or larger company); or from the agency or consulting side as Strategy, Creative or Client Services Director. Either way you will have a good knowledge of the commercial models underpinning a digital services business. Given that we are a consulting business and have a strong emphasis on team culture - the active presence of our leaders contributes significantly to making us who we are. This role is mostly in-office (with flexibility around life, whanau and hybrid working).
