ABOUT THE ROLE
Brosnan’s Quantity Surveyors work closely with the project team, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders. They are responsible for managing all commercial concepts, practices, and procedures from project commencement through completion.
As a Quantity Surveyor, Junior QSs will look to you for mentorship, development, and skill transfer. You’ll be relied on for your understanding of commercial contract law and your comfort with drafting subcontractor agreements, assessing payment claims and variations, enforcing adherence to contract terms, and risk management.
DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analysis of contract documents, budgets, estimates, and subcontractor quotations
- Review contract terms and conditions to ensure contractual adherence and protection of risk
- Negotiate favourable outcomes with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Risk management and problem-solving
- Procurement of subcontractors
- Compile Subcontract agreements
- Assess payment claims and variations
- Measure, estimate, and value variation claims
- Establish rates from first principles
- Compile and submission of variation claims
- Mentor junior quantity surveyors
- Monthly cost reporting and accurate cost forecasting
- Manage relationships with clients and key project stakeholders
Requirements
- Commercial construction experience necessary
- Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
