Founded in 2014 as the brainchild of Dan Pollard, a veteran NZ Plumber, who spent many years deep in the trenches. Eventually burning out and going bust, Dan realised that a trades business needs proper systems in place to keep it running without running its owner into the ground.

Fast-forward to today, we’re a Series B global B2B SaaS business with rapidly scaling offices in New Zealand (HQ), Australia and the UK.

The Opportunity:

As an Intermediate Engineer at Fergus you will be joining one of our cross-functional development teams focused on our core web and mobile experiences. Each team is full stack, including back end (mostly PHP with some NodeJS services), front end (mostly React, some PHP), and mobile (React Native).

There would also possibly be some database (MySQL) and infrastructure (AWS) work

Our Tech Stack:

  • React for Web
  • React Native for mobile
  • Typescript
  • GraphQL for mobile
  • NodeJS/Typescript and PHP 8 backends
  • MySQL database

Requirements

  • Experience with our tech stack above, although we welcome candidates with other similar experience sets
  • 2.5 years minimum professional software development experience
  • Experience with Agile development working methodologies

  • Peer Interview with 2 member's of the Product and Engineering team
