Requirements

We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to join our Design and Innovation team based at our Avondale site in Auckland.

As our successful candidate you will interpret design intent from design briefs to ensure effective product development and performance of concepts. You’ll quickly develop ideas and concepts into working prototypes for testing and evaluation, and then fully test them to prove design integrity. As a Mechatronics Engineer at GWA you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing mechatronic systems. You'll work on diverse projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create solutions that push the boundaries of technology.

There’s a project management aspect to this role and as such you’ll manage new products from concept to in-market within planned timeframes. You’ll also liaise with our Product Excellence and Marketing teams to ensure the effective implementation of products into production and delivery to market.

  • Experience of working within a customer centric consumer product development company
  • Experience managing projects involving teams across multi disciplines and external suppliers
  • Clear technical communication skills essential.

You’ll be naturally curious and actively seek and identify current and emerging industry design trends, technologies, regulatory changes, competitor activity and best practice that may directly impact on product design and development. Finally, you’ll tick at least two of the following three:

  • 3D CAD user (SolidWorks)
  • PCB design software
  • Software developer, embedded preferred (C)
