About the role

We are building new products, as well as maintaining our current global products. In this position you will ensure that our product configuration and Bills Of Material (BOM’s) are accurate to reflect the current product versions and all information manuals are up to date. We are looking for an experienced Configuration Management Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for product configuration control product datasheets and Bills of Materials (BOM’s).

Key duties include:

  • Responsible for management and maintenance of accurate product bill of materials (BOM)
  • Responsible for management and facilitation of change control system
  • Ensure all datasheets and BOM’s for our products are up to date and accurate at all times through product life cycle, to ensure smooth transition including but not limited to new contract manufacturer.
  • Management of configuration control processes and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with identification standards for processes, product life-cycles, documentation versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates.
  • Carries out the process change responsibilities for the configuration management process.
  • Analyses proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall system, and coordinates recording of modifications for management control.
  • Confers with manufacturer or customer representatives to establish change-reporting procedure, and prepares directives for change authorisation and documentation internally and externally as applicable.
  • Analyse proposed part-design changes and exhibits to prepare report of effect on overall product for management action, using knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, and procurement activities.
  • Confers with relevant departments to obtain additional information or to interpret policies and procedures for reporting necessary changes in product design.
  • Assist to coordinate audits or technical documents preparation procedure to verify compliance with contract requirements.
  • Communication of through comprehensive engineering change orders.
  • Responsible for maintaining product records and manufacturing serial number records.

Requirements

About you

We are interested in speaking to candidates with the following experience:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in a relevant engineering role coupled with relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of configuration support and analysis experience.
  • Proven ability to work on tasks with technical complexity.
  • Strong customer service ethic and a keen eye for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good systems management experience, such as: document control systems, audit systems etc.
  • No restrictions to travel.
  • Electronics background would be helpful in this position.
  • Aras or change management software experience would be advantageous.
