About the Role
As the General Manager Digital Engineering Growth, we are looking for a passionate person to take responsibility for generating business growth within our Wellington based Government and Commercial sectors with a key focus on Modern Application Development, Cloud Solutions, AI, Integration, and Data.
You're a strong advocate for solving business challenges with technology and are experienced and proactive in acquiring new logos, generating, and closing opportunities in new and existing customers, particularly in the central Government sector. This is an opportunity to use your consultative selling skills, together with your extensive network, to proactively connect with customers from all levels of the organisation to understand their business strategies, plans, priorities, needs and challenges and map that to application support strategies and supporting solutions. In doing so you will generate long term trusted relationships and continued opportunity conversion to enable our customers to thrive and shape their future and to support our business objectives and key results.
The role may involve focusing on certain market or industry segments in support of growth campaigns and opportunities. It will also involve working closely with our strategic partners and sales channel to deliver relationship growth and identifying and converting leads for our shared success.
As a senior leader you will contribute to strategic planning and business plans across Digital Engineering, contribute to the continuing evolution, adoption and deployment of new offerings and products, and provide enablement and support to Sales and Customer teams on existing and emerging products and services within Digital Engineering.

What you'll do
General Manager Digital Engineering Growth will have a key strategic role in the Digital Engineering business. The purpose of the role is to increase revenue by bringing customers on the journey and working with our sales teams in closing the deal that brings them onboard. You will position Datacom as a thought leader in market through innovation and future focus; support differentiation and disruption of the market through unique, high value offerings and support sustainable and profitable growth through strategic engagements and partnerships.
The role requires strong business development and interpersonal skills with the ability to bridge the gap between the customer, sales, and other lines of business, to deliver key outcomes for Datacom’s customers.

- Proven business development experience
- A broad business understanding of end-to-end sales to delivery cycle
- Customer engagement amp; relationship management
- Technology Diversity including application development, cloud, IT services, and digital technology
- Exposure and understanding of service management and delivery
- Commercial and Legal acumen
- Financial / contractual experience
- Consultative solutioning amp; problem solving
- Billing governance
- 5+ years’ Experience in technology consulting or similar
