What you’ll be doing: Te whakamahereThe Customer Manager role will involve developing strong relationships with an exciting portfolio of customers in the food, beverage, and consumer goods sectors, primarily across the Nelson and Marlborough region.Your customers will be growth focused exporters at various stages of maturity. You will be engaging with them to plan and deliver a work programme to strengthen their confidence and capability to export. Your focus will be on building a work program tailored to their strategic needs. You’ll have a keen eye for brand positioning, a growth mindset along with a collaborative and outcomes focused working style. Excellent relationship building and influencing skills are key, along with being comfortable operating in C-suite and investor environments. You are a strategic problem solver, self-disciplined and have a good understanding of the complexities of international business. You will have proven experience in sustainably building and developing networks, connecting customers to the right experts to address challenges and realise opportunities.What you’ll need to be successful: O PukengaYou will be enthusiastic, resilient and a great communicator that can easily build rapport by developing strong, and trusted relationships. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and connect with the broader NZTE team will be paramount. You will possess passion and energy to help New Zealand businesses succeed on the global stage.The successful person for this role will need to be truly customer centric; that means you will really understand your customers' opportunities and challenges, including sharing the same beliefs and plan. This will be done by connecting to customers with empathy, credibility, and commercial nous.
