Sales Representative / Account Manager

We are on the search for a person who is wanting a solid career in sales with a potential to advance when the opportunity is available. To fit into our organisation you will need to have a minimum of 3 years sales experience and still be wise enough to know that you still have a lot to learn. You will be in the above average sector with achievement and results driven. You will also understand that relationships are the key to strong and consistent sales results. You will have drive and passion to want to move ahead up the corporate ladder, however climb the ladder without standing on the heads of your colleagues. We have operations across NZ and Australia and are one of the leading companies in our field. We have a number of divisions under our umbrella and each support and assists the other to grow our market share.
The person willbe covering the Lower North Island region - Taranaki across to Hawkes Bay down to Wellington. So base location is a little flexible. A person who has a history in the building/construction sector or associated trades would be best fitted to this role. However, if you have a solid sales history in another sector we would be happy to consider you.

This role falls under out Aluminium division - external cladding.

Once you have a good knowledge of our systems and product you would not be required to come to the office daily and could work from home with perhaps two trips a week to the office. You will learn our products and services with the intention that the product portfolio will grow. Our industry is competitive and the landscape changes regularly.

Requirements

Following are some of the skills and experience you will need to have gained.

1. Good understanding of the sales process needed to achieve solid, consistent results
2. Excellent attention to detail
3. Strong relationship building skills
4. Ability to negotiate under difficult circumstances
5. Ability to think outside the square and resolve issues
6. A hunting background as a portion of this role is new business development. Approximately 80% current clients 20% new business development
7. Intermediate level to above computer skills
8. Above average mathematical skills
9. Awesome customer service and client facing skills
10. Some involvement/experience with budget and target setting
11. An interest or connection to the residential and commercial building sector or associated trade groups would be desirable.
12. A background in any building trades or construction would be an advantage and ability to read/interpret plans
