What you’ll be doing
As General Manager Strategy, People and Partners, you are at the heat of influencing NZTE’s future direction, bringing together inputs from our Board, people, customers, key stakeholders (such as NZ Inc agencies) and external trends to shape NZTE’s strategy. You will also ensure we have a simple and impactful people strategy which attracts and nurtures outstanding people talent and grows a good culture at NZTE. You will be an important member of NZTE’s Lead Team, which is responsible for the overall direction and leadership of the organisation.
This is a newly created role, recently established as the amalgamation of two previous roles GM roles. It is great opportunity to remake the game.
What you’ll need to be successful · An experienced leader, who can lead through others, by hiring great leaders and empowering them to deliver, and curating great culture.· A sound strategist who can develop future focused smart strategies based on insightful analysis, and who can deliver.· A background in both commercial and government environments with the ability to deliver results within the government framework in which NZTE operates.· Able to engage effectively, with tact and diplomacy with leaders of industry, business, and government to specific goals· High intelligence and low ego.
