Job Description

ImpactLab is a pioneer and a leader in Aotearoa’s social sector evaluation. We work alongside a broad range of customers - charities, non-profits, social enterprise, government, iwi, etc. - to estimate their social impact, provide a range of comparable metrics to communicate that impact, and deliver data- and research-driven insights to support future decision-making and strong programme design.

Since 2019, ImpactLab has been supporting Aotearoa’s social sector to Do Good, Better. Through data- and research-driven analysis into social interventions, we walk with our customers to help build their data literacy and data infrastructure, help develop the knowledge and evidence to support better decision-making, and help communicate impact to external stakeholders to ensure their sustainability.

At ImpactLab, you will be a part of a fast-paced and rapidly growing industry. We are undergoing a maturation phase, which means that you will have the opportunity to shape the growth of the organisation, be involved in a range of innovative work, and build a broad range of skills to support your career growth. Most importantly, however, you will join a team with a lot of heart and who desire to make Aotearoa a place where people live with security, stability, and dignity.

Application deadline is November 30. However, we will be reviewing applications from November 13

  • Build a deep understanding of each programme their work, their participants, and their approaches through customer workshops and supplementary reading material
  • Develop a theory of change
  • Conduct literature reviews to determine programme outcomes and effectiveness, and what ‘best practice’ looks like across various sectors and interventions
  • Match the literature to ImpactLab’s internal methodology
  • Work together with Project Leads to integrate these findings into the analytics process
  • Develop insights through the research and data analysis process
  • Communicate these findings to customers at final results workshops.

Outside of Core Delivery, you will help drive the continual innovation and evolution of the company, the GoodMeasure product, and our other products. This may include:

  • The development of Research Frameworks to support the ongoing knowledge repository of the research team
  • Improving efficiency in the research process
  • Engaging in innovation work and bespoke research pieces
  • Supporting the team in wider product development and delivery
  • Supporting the team in wider process development and delivery.
