Job Description

Do you want to work on projects where you’re actually trusted and empowered to make meaningful change for some of Australasia’s leading companies?

Dream of working in a place you can call home rather than have to change your career every two years to get ahead?

Want to be part of a team that focuses on getting the job done and having a good time while doing it?

If you answered yes to any of the above...then we should talk!

We’re Sandfield and we build smart software solutions for some of Australasia’s top brands.

We’re working on some pretty cool projects right now and there’s plenty more in our (very long) pipeline...so we need more talented Business Analysts/Project Managers to join our awesome team.

About us

We’re a leading, Kiwi-owned, software business that prides itself on NOT just being a conventional tech company.

We've been backing ourselves, and our ability to create great solutions for clients, since we first opened our doors in 1989. Since then, we’ve developed some pretty innovative systems for clients which leave other, more high-profile, software packages in the dust.

Our work facilitates high performance supply chains for the likes of Mainfreight, Qube and HWR Richardsons and keeps millions of orders and data points flowing for Foodstuffs. It also manages business finances for Team Global Express and Green Acres, helps fill seats on the Interislander for KiwiRail and keeps Les Mills members engaged...plus so much more.

One thing we think speaks for itself is that we’ve never had a sales team - our work and success story has been predominantly built on our reputation and referrals alone.

Our pitch to you

We know it’s a competitive market out there and loads of other companies are also probably trying to ‘woo’ you right now with big numbers and equally big promises.

What we can offer is something a little more special.

We guarantee your ‘everyday’ will be interesting, varied, challenging and fun! You’ll get to work alongside a range of other smart analysts/project managers and developers of all levels, who also happen to be really great people too.

They’re mountain bikers, road bikers, skiers, runners, active relaxers, video gamers, animal lovers, movie buffs, gym buffs, foodies, wine critics, bakers and musicians. They’re also family people, single people, party people, quiet people, loud people and happy people.

Our collaborative culture is at the centre of everything we do and it makes it a pretty special place to work. We know this because people also don’t tend to leave - i.e. the average length of service here is at least five years.

We also have a beer fridge, funky offices and ‘fun food Fridays’!

But don’t just take our word for it - here’s what our people say about working at Sandfield (Working at Sandfield)

As an organisation, we’re also very conscious of our environmental footprint and are currently on a journey to become carbon neutral in the very near future.

You’ll need to:

  • Manage projects with specific focus on deliverables, tasks and due dates
  • Take ownership of projects, use your initiative and be able to work effectively without direction
  • Convey risks, delays and impacts to the project team including initiating alternative solutions
  • Be involved in the governance of the projects at CEO and CIO level
  • Manage customer relationships, including billing, each month
  • Work with our clients and our own team to gather requirements and design solutions.
  • Monitor and report on progress and status
  • Assist with QA testing - particularly checking against requirements
  • Liaise with customers on testing issues and sign-offs
  • Assist with ‘go-live’ support and assistance

Your core focus will be on coordinating tasks, directing resources and staying across all aspects of the project. In effect, you’ll be the ‘glue’ that helps bring everything together for our team so you’ll need exceptional organisational skills.

You’ll also be working with a range of people so good communication skills are a must. You’ll need to be clear and succinct so there’s no misunderstandings, but also have the charisma and energy to collaboratively drive the project in the right direction.

You’ll be our troubleshooting ‘wingman or woman’ who has a good radar for detecting potential issues and implementing solutions when they threaten to impact timelines or budgets.

An interest in technology and the software development life cycle is also preferable.

When you work for us, you’ll enjoy:

  • Rapid career advancement based on initiative and performance
  • A huge variety of work
  • A relaxed, supportive and social environment
  • An opportunity
