We are looking for someone to provide technical network engineering services to Theta’s customers - implementing and providing operational support to ensure the functionality, availability, and security of Theta’s and our customers ICT networking systems, infrastructure, data, and communications.

You will

  • Work with the team to deliver technical solutions and support to Theta’s customers.
  • Implement, build and operate on-premises network and cloud technology solutions and offerings for customers as required.
  • Assist with operational tasks and pro-active system checks.
  • Implement, operate and enforce best practice network security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Provide thought leadership in the Practice and build the capability by contributing to the development of service offerings and solutions.
  • Maintain great relationships with customers, partners, and other providers.
  • Provide onsite customer support and liaison.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Assist in a presales capacity and support the sales and consulting team with customer visits, proposals and statements of work.
  • Maintain certifications in appropriate technologies.
  • Identify new customers and opportunities for Theta.

There may be an element of out of hours work requiring inclusion in an on-call roster.

You are located in either Auckland, Hamilton or Tauranga

You are available to travel occasionally.

Skills and experience | Nga pukenga me nga wheako

We are looking for someone with the following

  • Minimum of four years relevant network experience, preferably in enterprise environments
  • Current professional or industry certifications essential
  • Relevant commercial experience in areas including:
    • Network implementation and operational support.
    • Cloud and on-premises network solutions including public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid environments.
    • Network security implementation and support.
    • 3rd level network support and troubleshooting.
  • Solution design experience in various network technologies, including MPLS, SD-WAN, routing, firewalls, switching, load balancing solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience in DevOps, SysOps, GitOps, IaC and SRE methodologies and toolsets desirable.
  • Experience with products including Palo Alto and Juniper essential (Fortinet advantageous)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your time to work effectively.
  • Highly customer focused and able to provide thought leadership.
  • Have a thirst for technical excellence and adopts new technologies easily.
