We are currently looking for an experienced senior practitioner with a strong operational risk, process controls design and improvement background to support our public sector clients in Wellington to help continue the growth of our Risk Advisory team. What will your typical day look like?In a world of rapidly changing regulations, societal expectations and digital disruption that are transforming industries and customer expectations, you will help organisations bridge the gap between risk and opportunity, safely and sustainably.As an Associate Director within our Technology, Operational and Regulatory Risk team you will play an active role in leading talented people and work with client executives as a trusted advisor. You will be working with talented risk professionals who work in a fast-paced environment and are adept in applying critical thinking to help clients improve performance and operating efficiency by applying the risk lens and taking a pragmatic approach. You will be doing expert review, leveraging your understanding of the clients’ industry, regulatory requirements, strategy, and business objectives to strengthen organisational governance, risk management, policies and process improvements including managing third party risks and performance.You will work with client’s leaders to define engagement scope, objectives and deliverables that support change and improvement. You will inspire your team to plan and execute the engagement on time and to budget. The team will look to you to provide advice on functional, programme and process improvement assessment and change advice in business transformation context. You will act as a role model and positively influence people to develop a high-performing team. As well as guiding your team on the day-to -day delivery of outcomes for clients, you will also contribute commercially by developing deep client relationships, identifying opportunities, and bringing additional client work. This will involve establishing trusted relationships and networks internally within Deloitte and externally with clients to harness these into commercial opportunities.The broad nature of our client base means you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a range of industries and sectors, and a broad spectrum of complex challenges. You are someone with:· 10-15 years’ demonstrated experience in a risk consulting or advisory role leading and delivering engagements in professional services and/or government agency. · Experience and passion for leading, developing and mentoring a diverse and inclusive team, you enjoy seeing newer practitioners grow and develop.· Strong knowledge of process improvement and change, governance, risk, control and assurance frameworks and practices.· Regulatory risk, compliance experience. Exposure to business process improvement, third party risk management and project risk an advantage.· Experience of managing and delivering complex reviews or assessments, business process and control redesign, internal audit, risk and governance engagements for large organisations.· You are driven, well-rounded with a high level of energy, having ability to think laterally, enjoy getting things done, and most importantly have a love for learning.· Proven business development experience, from lead generation and leading bid management through to the delivery of client engagements.· Ability to communicate, present and contextualise complex ideas concisely and accurately while adjusting style and tone to suit your audience.· Related tertiary qualification About the team:We are a rapidly growing team based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
