Job Description

Our trade partners are the life blood of our business and if you are ready for the challenge, we are searching for a new Trade Services Representative to continue building our maintenance team resource. You will be tasked with ensuring that Switched On Housing has sufficient trade coverage across all trade types for our residential maintenance programme.

Your ability to build strong and enduring relationships with our sub-contractors will help Switched On Housing deliver on our performance based contractual obligations within our partnership agreement. You will drive positive outcomes by being a reliable first point of contact for our trades, helping to escalate any issues they may have or to signpost them to our internal teams. You will be part of a small and passionate team who are committed to onboarding new trades into our business.

The role will see you travel across our South Island region of Northern Canterbury, West Coast and Nelson/ Blenheim.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the engagement and onboarding of new sub-contractors to supplement our trade base
  • Reviewing trade performance against KPI measures to improve their financial outcomes
  • Maintain and monitor registers of sub-contracting companies and staff
  • Develop trusting trade relationships and measure success through routine planned review meetings
  • Support inducted trades regarding the use of systems and process

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of contract management/ account management experience
  • Worked in property maintenance/ construction sectors preferred
  • Excellent negotiation skills and tenacity
  • Able to communicate authentically with our trades, customers, and clients to ensure they understand the vision and outcomes required in our contract
  • Be resilient and able to adapt to change in priorities
  • Able to travel within our top of the south region as required
