Requirements

As Serko’s Group Financial Controller (GFC) you'll take ownership of the core finance processes at Serko, including external and internal financial reporting, transaction processing and compliance matters of the organisation globally.

Work in partnership the CFO and Head of Financial Planning amp; Analysis to provide internal reports and insights to internal stakeholders to enable them to drive performance at Serko and to deliver high quality external reporting to key stakeholders. This role interacts with the Board, Executives, and key members of other operational areas of the business to support revenue and profitability growth, whilst ensuring strong internal controls and processes.


What you will be doing

  • Lead the financial controller team, with 3 direct reports
  • Lead core financial processes billing, accounts payable and receivable, internally generated software capitalization, tax filings, group payroll processing etc
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports
  • Lead financial and statutory compliance related matters for the Audit, Risk and Sustainability Committee
  • Contribute to financial policy development, ensuring internal financial controls appropriate for a listed company of Serko’s size and type are in place and operating effectively including ensuring appropriate cost control mechanisms are adhered to
  • Identify and drive operational efficiencies and continuous improvements in finance processes
  • Lead the production of the Interim and Annual Financial Statements and contribute to the related management commentary and other disclosures for the Interim and Annual Reports, ensuring overall compliance with listing rules
  • Lead the relationship with the external auditors and ensure the audit process is efficient and drives appropriate assurance to management and the board accounting and audit staff, ensures annual audits conducted
  • Group Tax compliance
  • Group Treasury including cash flow forecasting, managing short term investments and forex requirements.
  • Manage the annual insurance renewal and claims processing
  • Review and sign-off of payroll
  • Oversee grant applications with government agencies for Ramp;D funding

What you will bring

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant - essential to be considered for this position
  • Literate with modern financial accounting and forecasting systems (Xero/Budget Maestro)
  • Strong Excel skills, competent in Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including up to date knowledge of accounting regulations
  • Able to change the status quo and drive through changes
  • Resilient with strong organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills whilst been able to build relationships at all levels
  • People leadership skills to inspire, motivate, coach and develop
  • Foster a team culture that encourages collaboration, creativity, and growth
  • Previous work experience in a listed company is preferred
