The Role | Te Mahi

A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Food amp; Beverage Services Manager to oversee Acheron, our restaurant and bar located at Sudima Christchurch Airport.

We are seeking a driven and proactive individual who is dedicated to motivating and empowering their team to deliver impeccable service to our guests and nurture their professional growth at Sudima. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of beverages, a relentless commitment to surpassing diners' expectations, and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of three years of managerial experience in food, beverage, and conference operations.


Responsibilities | Nga haepapa

  • Management and leadership of the hotel food amp; beverage service outlets including the restaurant, bar, minibar, room service and conference food amp; beverage service
  • Leading the Food and Beverage team, ensuring a motivated and high-performing team.
  • Committed to continuing professional development
  • Coordinating with the conference team to manage events held at the hotel
  • Ensure all team members deliver a high level of service at all times
  • Ensuring highest possible standard of hygiene
  • Creating and maintaining relationships across different departments to ensure a smooth hotel operation
  • Be pro-active in controlling costs, tracking forecasted business and targeted profitability whilst maintaining standards
  • Purchasing of products used within the restaurant and bar, maintaining stock levels
  • Comply with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and amendments, Smoke Free Environments Act 1990 New Zealand Legislation
  • Ensure all staff are aware of their obligations pursuant to the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Requirements

About You | Ko Koe Tenei

  • 3-5 years experience in food and beverage service across restaurants, bars and events
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Event management exposure
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests, staff, and suppliers.
  • Ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and remain composed under pressure
  • A solid understanding of managing costs
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Current General Managers Certificate
  • Valid Right to Work in NZ
