About the Role
The role is responsible for managing all financial activities of Smartly, including the Datacom PAYE Intermediary Service business line. As a key member of the senior management team, this is a critical role expected to significantly contribute to both formulation and execution of strategic plans, deliver actionable business insights and commercial decision support, provide effective risk management and financial control, identify process gaps and improvement opportunities.
What you’ll bring
- Knowledge of management accounting processes and practices
- Firm knowledge of accounting principles, including NZ IFRS
- Solid understanding of corporate finance methods for investment decision support
- Strong strategic background, with an ability to grasp the big picture
- Planning amp; performance evaluation experience
- Financial and investment analysis skills
- Financial modelling expertise
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial controls and risk management practices
- Good understanding of SaaS business model, including key performance metrics
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Smartly CEO, providing financial information, tools, analysis and insight to challenge their thinking, helping them make more informed decisions and driving business strategy.
- Support the creation and upkeep of an ongoing revenue-focused sales strategy. Help create a consistent, successful, repeatable sales model, implement scalable processes, establish good unit economics, and monitor the company’s sales efficiency KPIs.
- Develop and report on key SaaS metrics
- Oversee, monitor and periodically review capital allocation strategy, track internal investment returns, and help allocate resources to high-growth product and service development projects.
- Lead treasury operations, including cash flows forecasting, funding and working capital.
- Lead financial analysis, strategy refresh and planning processes.
- Identify areas of potential risks and inefficiencies across the business and proactively lead mitigation activities to minimise these risks.
