Position Information:

The purpose of the role is to project manage both New Product Development and technology projects from conception through to mass production and deployment.

  • Effectively lead hardware and technology development projects through our phase gate and agile development processes.
  • Manage all aspects of the project scope including quality, timeframes, deliverables, development cost, and projected bill of material cost.
  • Owning projects through all phases of development including concept requirements development (MRD/PRD), design and development planning (work estimates, resource planning etc.) Product development, dev unit assembly and distribution (EVT, DVT, PVT) as well as NPI and initial product release.
  • Be an advocate for our Product Development Process and running exceptional projects
  • Help drive our Agile framework, in particular our Program Increment planning and associated processes and metrics
  • Thrive in ambiguous settings, simultaneously advancing high pressure projects and initiatives while continually adapting and improving our Product Development Process.
  • Act as a positive change agent in the delivery space, embedding agile practices and process

Skills and experience required

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary level qualification in engineering and / or high-tech manufacturing.
  • 7 years+ experience in Electronic Hardware product development and management of technical products including delivery and introduction into manufacturing
  • Project management experience using Stage-Gate processes
  • Familiar with both task and scrum / agile project management concepts
  • Experience in managing customer expectations, third party suppliers and contract manufacturing
  • Highly organised and results driven
  • Can demonstrate experience in taking an idea and turning it into a product using best in class processes.
  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to development teams.
  • Able to evaluate complex project risks and issues accurately and objectively
  • Strong analytical, planning and organisation skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of both business and customers’ needs with the ability to establish and maintain high levels of customer trust and confidence.
  • Proven ability to work with geographically dispersed and culturally diverse teams.
  • Experience in complex integration style projects
