An opportunity has opened for an experienced accountant within our busy finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller and based in Wanaka, you will become part of the global finance amp; operations team of our growing business where you will be encouraged to use your initiative to continually improve the way we operate. With entities in NZ, Austria, and Canada, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple currencies and regions.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities include:
- Management of inventory - including reporting on accuracy, costs, turnover rates, and close monitoring and reporting of inventory levels
- Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Review variances to forecast for respective Pamp;L divisions, providing commentary on drivers of performance
- Ensure all company sales taxes are accurate, filed and paid on time
- Continuously review and drive improvements in the finance processes and controls
- Undertake training to build knowledge of our financial systems, especially the ERP (Oracle Netsuite)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date Financial Accounting process documentation
- Mentoring and training other members of the organisation in both systems amp; general accounting knowledge
About You:
- 3+ years accounting experience in inventory, management and/or financial accounting
- Strong knowledge of tax and company compliance regulations
- CA or CPA qualifications
- Tech-savvy, with the ability to get IT tools to work for you - either by yourself, or through your ability to manage external providers. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong commercial acumen
- Extremely well organised with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to develop relationships across the business with non-accountants and build positive working relationships
- New Zealand citizen, resident, or holder of an applicable work visa
- Already residing in Wanaka or have plans to relocate here (if you do not currently live in or around Wanaka, please include your relocation intentions in your cover letter)
