About The Role | Te Mahi

We are looking for an experienced People and Culture Advisor to join the management team at Sudima Christchurch Airport hotel in this full time role with flexibility over 5 days.
This is an intermediate HR generalist role that will provide experience across all areas of HR and Employee Experience; Recruitment, Onboarding, Uniform and Benefits, Induction, Training Administration, Employment Relations and Offboarding. The role reports to the Hotel Manager operationally with a dotted reporting line and support from the Regional People amp; Culture Manager - South Island.

Responsibilities | Nga haepapa

  • Providing HR support to employees through timely and accurate actions
  • Ensure best practice recruitment, onboarding and training and development practices are carried out in the hotel
  • Build a culture of connection, respect and recognition, celebrating employee milestones and achievements
  • Ensure that employment contracts in the hotel are in line with current employment legislation
  • Provide a high level of professionalism and competence in Employment Relations matters and processes
  • Provide Immigration support letters to employees as required
  • Encourage and sustain our culture of diversity, inclusion and sustainability at all times

Requirements

About you | Ko koe tenei

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Minimum 2 years recent New Zealand experience in a HR generalist position within a medium to large organisation
  • Qualified or working towards a qualification in Human Resource Management and working knowledge of current NZ employment legislation
  • Competent in advising on Employment Relations issues and assisting management with performance improvement and development of our people
  • Ability to collect, manage and secure information in line with Privacy Act 2020
  • Highly organised, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines with attention to detail
  • Previous hotel experience/ knowledge of the hospitality service sector would be advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience with HRIS and cloud recruitment software beneficial
